What’s new
The latest improvements to Logex, newest first.
Logex 1.1
Coming soon- NewYour split: name your training days (start from Push / Pull / Legs, Upper / Lower, Full body or Body part, or make your own) and put each weekday on a day or a rest day, in Profile → Training profile → Your split. Home’s Today card shows that day’s session, This week shows each day under its letter, and a new workout starts with the day’s name and focus. A program you’re on still comes first.
- NewLab rat mode for lifts you’ve never logged: instead of planning loads from nothing, start light and rate the set, and the next one is worked out from that RPE, aimed at your target. After two rated sets it learns how the lift responds and paces from that. Turn it off, or use the planner instead.
- NewAsk your history: a new History screen, from Home’s search bar or See all, answers plain questions like “last 1rm on squat”, “hardest workout ever” or “leg days in March”. Filter by day type, time range and PRs, sort by volume or effort, and see what you did a year ago and how far you’ve come since.
- NewAchievements: tiered achievements that unlock from everything you’ve ever logged, from Moved a Car to Year of Iron, plus limited editions and secrets, on a new Badges screen off the Progress hub. Workout saved shows what each save unlocked.
- NewWeekly challenges: a new one every Monday, the same for everyone, with a target sized to your own last four weeks. Wins and win streaks count toward their own achievements.
- NewBadge case: every in-workout badge you’ve earned, how often and on which lifts, and how to earn the ones you haven’t.
- NewLift milestone badges: Plate Club (1 to 5 plates a side), bodyweight clubs (like a 2× bodyweight squat), milestone sessions of a lift (10th to 250th) and Century (100+ working reps on one lift in a session).
- NewSet suggestions that progress at your own pace: inside a routine’s rep range you get one more rep at the same weight, and at the top of the range more weight with reps back at the bottom. How much weight is learned from each lift’s own recent sessions, so a fast-moving lift keeps a bigger jump and a stalled one adds a single plate step.
- NewBuild my game plan now builds the whole session from what each muscle in today’s focus still needs this week, never picks a lift that trains a muscle outside today’s focus, and adds an accessory for an active goal. A “Why this plan” card explains it, with Shorter, Usual or Longer, leave a muscle out, and a swap on every lift.
- NewRoutine variations: run a routine as Normal, Quick, Light, Recovery, Long, Push it or Shuffle, and swap any exercise for today. The saved routine never changes.
- NewGyms and machines: each workout records where you trained, and machine, cable and Smith exercises can name the machine you’re on. Those lifts compare only with sessions at the same gym or on the same machine, and use all your sessions until there’s one to compare with. Free weights and bodyweight compare everywhere.
- NewTraining programs: nine presets, including 5/3/1 Boring But Big, GZCLP, Smolov Jr, StrongLifts 5×5, PHUL and Reddit PPL, plus three Logex templates, for 2 to 6 days a week. “Find my program” ranks them from four questions, and Home’s Today card follows the program you’re on.
- NewMissed targets adapt: when a ticked set falls short of its planned reps, Logex asks why (Too heavy, Tired, Short rest, Form or Out of time) and adjusts the rest of today’s sets. Next time the plan goes lighter, retries, adds rest or resets, and says so.
- NewIntensity (Light, Moderate, Hard) and Volume (Low, Moderate, Large) before you train. They replace the workout-type tags and change the planned RPE, reps and sets.
- NewYour view: choose how much Logex shows, from Just log to Guided to Full data, then switch each element (est. 1RM, volume, badges, coach, RPE, goals, records and more) on or off with a live preview in Profile → Your view.
- NewLifter profiles: setup gives you a lifter type (Foundation Builder, Strength Chaser, Muscle Builder, Cut & Keep or Time-Smart Lifter) and a level, which set your rep targets, rest, starter goals and Home card order. Your heaviest recent sets give lifts you haven’t logged a real starting weight until two sessions are logged, and never count as PRs.
- NewTrack sides (one arm or leg at a time) and tempo, in one Setup sheet with the cable attachment.
- NewGame plan choices: Do it now, Queue for later or Skip today (“Not for me” for the app’s own picks).
- NewRest clock: tick a set when you finish it and a rest meter docks above your sets, with the time, a goal for this rest (3:00 after 1–5 reps, 2:00 after 6–12, 1:00 after 13+ or a warm-up, moving toward your usual rest) and a Start set button. Rest and set times are saved with every set. Set it up in Profile → Preferences → Rest clock.
- NewFinish check: Review looks at your week before you save, says Looks complete, Almost there or Light session, and offers up to two “Add N sets” quick adds. It never blocks Save.
- NewWorkout saved: volume, sets, time and rest on target up front, your records, this week’s set goals before → after, the goals this workout moved and a This session card for every lift.
- NewUp next: tick suggestions for your next session like this one (a PR attempt, make-up sets, a load change or a goal step). They come back on Home and in your next workout, and tick themselves off when you get there.
- NewMonthly recaps: a recap card on Home in the first week of the month, a Recaps archive in Progress, and a tap-through story of your month and of everything since you joined. Every number comes from your logged sets.
- NewThe exercise library grows to 316 exercises. Each one’s muscles come from cited research, and its detail page shows direct, indirect and stabilizer muscles, an evidence badge and the sources behind the ⓘ.
- NewBodyweight and assisted exercises: pull-ups, dips and push-ups take “+ added” weight, assisted machines take “assist”, and records count the load you actually moved. Less assistance reads as progress.
- NewSwap the exercise on a saved or live workout. The closest stand-ins come first, and your sets, weights, reps and times come with it.
- NewCustom exercises start from a movement: tap each muscle between direct, indirect and off, choose how weight is logged, and edit them later. When one matches a built-in exercise, switch to it in one tap, with Undo.
- NewA new launch screen: the logex wordmark on black, then a smooth fade into the app.
- NewSet types that mean something: Warm-up, Working, Back-off, To failure, AMRAP, 1RM, Drop set, Rest-pause and Cool-down, each showing what it counts toward. Drop sets and rest-pause count as half a weekly set and never set a record.
- NewDrop sets in one tap: after a set, a “Drop 75×9” chip adds the next drop, sized from your own drop % and rounded to a load your equipment can make. Logex highlights it when you usually finish that way.
- NewFinish with a drop set, rest-pause or a set to failure, right in your exercise plan or on a routine line.
- NewCable attachments: rope, straight bar, EZ bar, V-bar and more. Logex remembers the one you used and compares “last time” only with sessions done on the same attachment.
- NewSupersets: pair exercises from the exercise menu or link them in a routine. Each exercise keeps its own page, labelled A1 / A2, and ticking a set takes you to the next one; rest starts after the round.
- NewProgress hub: the Statistics tab now opens on your week, with a headline that changes as the week goes, a sessions ring, streak, PRs and a “Worth a look” feed.
- NewGoals: set a lift target (estimated 1RM or weight × reps, with an optional deadline), a weekly consistency habit, or keep a muscle growing for N weeks. Each shows pace and a projected date.
- NewLifts, Muscles, Body map and Strength standards pages, all redesigned.
- NewBadges: Plateau Breaker, Rep PR, Volume PR, Best in 6 Weeks, Ghost PR, Within Reach and Grinder.
- NewLive Set Coach: a dock under your sets proposes the next one, the smallest set that beats the target you pick (last, best or average volume, last e1RM or a PR). Open it for three solved options and a weight × reps what-if.
- NewGraded progress: volume and estimated 1RM show how close you are, from way below to best ever, with markers for last session and your all-time best.
- NewBadges now unlock as you log, with a short animation, and stay earned while you add sets.
- NewAdaptive exercise planning: pick Strength, Volume, Peak 1RM or Deload and Logex builds editable warm-ups and working sets from your history. It asks how many warm-ups and work sets you want, and How this plan was built explains each plan.
- NewDynamic warm-ups: loads you repeat stay fixed, only the ramp above them follows your top set, and warm-ups shrink when earlier lifts already warmed the same muscles. “Use full warmup” undoes it.
- NewExercise-order fatigue: Logex expects less from a lift done after related ones, and shows a “Pre-fatigued” pill on the plan and an “Adjusted for exercise order” note on the summary. PRs and stored maxes stay raw.
- NewSeven themes in Profile → Preferences: LOGEX, Farmhouse, Simplistic, Classic, Glassy, Cyberpunk and Ember, each in light and dark, with your own accent colour.
- NewFinish a workout and review it before it saves. Edit anything, then confirm. If a save fails, your work is kept so you can retry.
- NewHome opens with a quick check-in (energy, weigh-in, what you took today, sleep, goal check, protein; up to three questions a day), then Today: the session that fits, learned from the workouts you log. Reorder or hide cards under Customize home.
- NewRoutines that build themselves: repeat workouts are offered as routines, start from Push, Pull, Legs, Upper, Lower or Full body, and Complete closes every gap in one pass. Each routine has an intent (goal, volume and sessions a week) that defines what 100% means, plus a quality score with one-tap fixes.
- NewGoals show your next session’s target, like “Aim for 190 lb × 5”, with real 2.5 kg steps for kg users.
- NewDiagnostics and usage analytics: errors, sync failures and feature-usage events, linked to your account and used only to improve Logex. Never sold, no ads, no tracking across other apps. Turn each off in Profile → Privacy & data.
- NewSetup that explains itself: units, goal, experience, schedule, equipment, body stats, focus muscles and reminders, each with a “why we ask”.
- NewProfile hub with Training profile, Body metrics, Preferences, Notifications, Privacy & data and Delete account.
- NewKilograms: show and enter weights in kg or lb, switchable any time.
- NewOptional workout reminders, scheduled on your device for the days you choose.
- NewUnfinished workouts are saved as drafts and restored the next time you open the app.
- ImprovedThe add-exercise sheet fits the workout you’re in: it shows what each muscle area got today against a typical session, opens on your next gap, and each exercise says what it adds (“New: Hamstrings”) or repeats (“Like back squat”). Favorites come first.
- ImprovedA lift’s first session shows a bar for each set and an RPE-adjusted estimated 1RM instead of empty progress bars.
- ImprovedWorkout cards tell each session’s story: day type, volume, an effort bar against your hardest workout, and PR and first-time pills. Home shows your last 5 workouts.
- ImprovedPlan details is now How this plan was built: why the lift is here, where the numbers start, what was adjusted for today and what it adds up to for the week. The set-by-set editor sits under Fine-tune each set.
- ImprovedLogging and planner pages share one header, so swiping between them doesn’t shift the screen. The planner keeps the same shape for 3 sets or 10, with warm-ups folded into one row.
- ImprovedThe start page is three steps: what you’re training, how hard today, and start.
- ImprovedA session’s first suggestions lead with a free-weight main lift, like back squat before leg press.
- ImprovedDiscard an unfinished workout from Home with the × on its card.
- ImprovedCable loads plan in 2.5 lb steps and never drop below the lightest working weight of your recent sessions. No more 5 lb lateral raises.
- ImprovedBadges, volume and estimated 1RM move only when you tick a set, not while you type. A queued drop set or rest-pause shows on the set, and starts on its own when its short rest ends.
- ImprovedRest goals are remembered per exercise (Auto, or 0:45 to 4:00), and weekly set counts show as whole numbers.
- ImprovedIdentical planned sets collapse into one row, like “Backoff ×3”.
- ImprovedThe planner can open on a goal’s next step or last time’s target, and the Live Set Coach can chase a goal lift’s next step.
- ImprovedThe check-in asks what you took today (creatine, pre-workout or caffeine) and, once there’s enough data, shows how your top sets compare on those days. Up next adds each goal’s next step, Strength standards covers your three most-trained lifts, and Recaps show a pace chart against your best month.
- ImprovedWorkout saved opens with an animated reward header.
- ImprovedWeekly muscle volume counts sets the way the research does: a full set for the muscles that move the load, half a set for the helpers, never more than once per muscle per set. Warm-ups never count, and very easy sets (below RPE 6) count less.
- ImprovedA tidier workout header: the exercise name gets the full width with a goal-status line, and goal, suggestions, stats, history, swap and remove live in one ⋯ menu.
- ImprovedBadges unlock in a steady slot under your stats that shows one useful hint until then, and new badges join on the right without moving the ones you have.
- ImprovedRoutine exercises stop suggesting sets once the planned working sets are logged (one bonus set at most), and starting a routine logs every line inside its range.
- Improved“Start it” on Home’s Today card opens your usual session with its exercises ready, each on last session’s sets.
- ImprovedThe exercise picker searches every exercise by name, alias, movement and equipment, starts from your equipment, and has BW, Assisted and +Weight filters.
- ImprovedFaster startup and no white flashes in dark mode. Loading screens show the outline of the page instead of a spinner, and busy buttons say what they’re doing.
- ImprovedProfile edits work offline and sync later, and signing in on a new phone waits for your data before showing setup.
- ImprovedLast week in review leads with a real win and one next step.
- ImprovedSession quality is now positive-only. A session near your best reads as Solid Work or Peak Session, and lighter back-off sets no longer drag the score down.
- ImprovedExercise suggestions learn your usual order and favourites, with Familiar first, Balanced discovery and My exercises only modes.
- ImprovedLegs are split into quads, hamstrings, glutes, adductors and calves across stats, planning and the exercise picker.
- ImprovedHome shows “Your next move” insights, weekly sessions and rep records, and a day-by-day muscle coverage view.
- ImprovedExercise history and stats agree with each other and with your saved data. Warm-up and warmdown sets never count, and editing a workout, logging two in a day or repeating an exercise no longer double counts.
- ImprovedHistory cards lead with the top set, then volume, estimated 1RM against last time and average RPE, plus badges earned. Stats are quick references to check between sets, with no graphs.
- ImprovedA log that’s easier to resume: Log offers Resume and Start, and an unfinished workout is protected before a new one replaces it.
- ImprovedSet rows start from the coach’s suggestion, the current set is highlighted, and the newest set can sit on top. Toggle it in the set header.
- ImprovedRoutine exercises store a sets × reps range, like 3–4 × 6–8, that the workout planner stays inside.
- ImprovedDecimal RPE values like 8.5 are kept everywhere.
- FixedPlanned set counts no longer creep up from one session to the next.
- FixedSets saved without RPE are no longer planned lighter next time, and one off day no longer drags the next plan down.
- FixedPush days no longer suggest rear-delt work, and pull days no longer suggest front delts.
- FixedThe Starting weight field for a lift you’ve never logged no longer closes after one digit.
- FixedAndroid: the app opens reliably, rest edits are kept when you tap Done, and exercise search stays above the keyboard.
- FixedCustom exercises now appear in the exercise list and detail screens.
- FixedMislabelled exercises (Romanian deadlift, lateral lunge) and three duplicates in the library. Squats no longer count for hamstrings, and rows and pulldowns now count for rear delts.
- FixedPull-ups logged with no added weight now save, sync and count toward your muscles.
- FixedRemoving an exercise from a workout now asks first, and a custom exercise can’t be deleted while a workout or routine uses it.
- FixedA crash on login (“Maximum update depth exceeded”).
- FixedDuplicate sets in history and workout detail, and the inflated volume averages they caused.
- FixedWarm-ups that drifted to loads you never use, and plans with an impossible volume target. You now get a closest-realistic warning instead.
- FixedRepeating last session exactly with the same warm-ups no longer lights Progress or clears “Beat last volume”, and a lift logged only as warm-ups isn’t treated as a first time.
- FixedStatistics show a blank instead of a made-up number when there isn’t enough data.
